SWANS TAKE IT TO MULLINGAR - Round 10 - 26th August 2006
The last home and away match for the Swans was against the Mullingar Midland Tigers. Both teams were light on numbers on the day but still managed to put on a good show.

At the first bounce both teams were a little unsettled however it didn’t take long for the swans to take charge and put one on the board with Sean streaming through half forward to start off the Swans tally. Relishing his first chance up forward for the year the Pres Mick Oakes linked up well with the Brainchild (you know who I mean) and kicked his first (hopefully not last goal of the year).

The second quarter saw the Swans continue their good form into the Wind. Plenty of good supply came through middle from Kerry man John Ahern, Damo and Big Kev allowing the forwards to do there job. Sean and the Pres linked up a number of times to put scores on the board. Jase having escaped relegation to the backline after last games slice to the right chipped in his share with three quick ones.

The third quarter saw the Tigers bounce back and put a few majors on the board, as the swans seem to run out of steam. However a stirring run from stand in captain Martin 'The Beard' Ryan who took off out of full back taking three bounces (the man loves a bounce) brought the boys back in to focus.

After a little reprimand from the coach at three quarter time for the lack-lustre effort during the third the boys came out well in the forth quarter. Solid work by Brent, Martin and Dom through the backline allowed the swans to keep the tigers at bay and finish off strongly. Special mention goes to two new young fellas Paddy and Darragh who threw themselves into the match for the first time and performed well.

Swans taking the victory 13.10.88 to 6.13.49
