Swans Off To A Flyer - Round 1 22/04/06
The first match of the season for the South Dublin Swans was against rival Dublin side the Dublin Saints. In blustery conditions the swans with the wind in the first quarter got themselves off to a good start. Inaccurate kicking by our coach fitzy costs the boys an even better start but he still managed to slot two through the big sticks. Adam Helzi Hellner started his first match of the season off in fine form with hard aggressive play through the middle however his lack of fitness is something he may need to address.

The Second quarter saw the boys using the ball better and converting six goals against the wind. The highlight of the quarter was a half time siren barrel from the brainchild Craig Woodsy Wood.

New guys to the game adapted well in the third quarter with impressive play coming from ex champion gaelic footballer John (we don't have a nickname for him yet) kicking three goals and showing he will be a danger down forward. Graeme, Eddy, Allen, Will and a host of Irish lads showed good signs and ability beyond there aussie rules experience.

Kicking on in the forth quarter the boys closed out the match strongly wrapping up the day with a impressive win 137 to 30.
