Big Paul wins 2009 B&F (belated)

posted 29 Dec 2009 15:41 by David Scott   [ updated 30 Dec 2009 15:43 ]

The Swans Best & Fairest count for season 2009 was held back on Friday October 2nd, at the splendid setting of Ocean Bar on Grand Canal Dock. With a good number of players and partners in attendance we kicked off the counting of the votes along with a review of each match, between the courses of our dinner.

After recapping many enthralling encounters (I'm sure the girls will agree), and counting all of the votes, Big Paul was declared the runaway winner. Paul polled well in every game to finish a full 21 votes ahead of Farmer in 2nd place. Co-Captain Rhino finished third. The full vote table is:

Paul 46
Macca 25
Rhino 17
Darren 11
John 11
Nate 10
Enda 8
Chad 7
Scotty 5
Donno 4
Malcom X 4

The deserving winner of the inaugural 'Aurelian Baud Rookie of The Year Award' was Noel, ahead of Paul and Eoin in 3rd.

In the goal-kicking stakes, Bryce finished the season as top premiership goal kicker, a competition he lead all year. The top 5 ended up as follows:

Bryce 12
Macca 8
Rhino 6
Ed 5
Paul 5

Well done to Paul on winning the Best & Fairest for 2009, you've had a great first year in footy.
